Slide & Fixed Wheels Gates
The Slide and Fixed Wheel Gates are two types of gates mainly used to provide a vertical water barrier in waterworks inside a pressurized system or in open water channels.
These types of gates are fabricated in steel plate that is suitably reinforced with various steel sections to withstand the water pressure.
Fixed Wheel Gates are typically used for maintenance and for emergency closure usually where the opening sizes are too large to efficiently use Slide Gates or for when gravity closure is required. The wheels which are mounted on shafts fixed laterally to the leaf on vertical girders have double functions: to reduce the friction forces and to transfer the water load to the embedded parts.
These types of gates provide many advantages:
